Post-apocalyptic suggestions and two reviews
This week I've written a heck of a lot of reviews but only managed to get two of them published. This and some post-apocalyptic book recommendations!
👋 Hello
Happy Sunday my little readers! Hope you’re all well and your weekend has been the best weekend you’ve ever had (high bar I know but got to hope for the best, hey?)
This week I managed to smash out three book reviews in my spare time. However, I’ve only published two of them as I’ve not done all the paraphernalia for the other two yet, so I’ll post those this week.
That means if you’re looking for something new to read, you can check out my reviews of Dark Matter by Blake Crouch, a science-defying, fast-paced thriller or The House on the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune, a mythical, cosy fantasy read about learning not to judge people at first sight.
If you’re more of a visual learner, then worry not my little ADHD friend as I’ve got a YouTube video you can watch which recommends some post-apocalyptic books to remind you that despite the dire situation of our planet, it isn’t quite ruined yet:
📖 What I’ve been reading this week
This week I’ve been back into proper reading form and thus I’ve managed to finish my second book of the year in Dragonflight by Anne McCaffrey. it’s a fantasy classic that paved the way not only for the genre but for women writers in the genre. It’s about dragons (if you hadn’t guessed) and is filled with great lore and world-building. You can watch my video of it on TikTok or Insta if you wish.
I’ve then picked up The Bee Sting by Paul Murray which is my first book of the year that you guys recommended I read. Little did I know it’s actually really long - the audiobook is over 24 hours! I’m about three hours in so far and it’s been a down-to-earth enjoyable enough story but I’m just waiting for something to happen that will take it onto a more enjoyable level.
🤑 Not-fiction for less than £5
reading books isn’t always about fiction. There are many great bound pieces of paper out there that offer insights, entertainment and more, so here are some of those for less than a fiver.
“Not-fiction?” I hear you say. Yes, well I consider “non-fiction” as those that you learn something from or is a memoire or something, however this list includes puzzle books and such so I’ve decided to call it “not-fiction” instead.
