An author I think you MUST read...
I posted a YouTube video on Monday all about one of my favourite authors at the moment and why I think you should read them!
👋 Hello
What’s up buttercups? The weather’s been a bit odd this week - we had a relatively cold start and then the nicest day of the year so far on Thursday. Let’s hope it’s a sign of things to come this spring and summer!
I hope you’re all reading something brilliant, scroll down a little to find out what I’ve been reading this week.
Firstly though, don’t forget to have a look at my recent review of Dragonflight by Anne McCaffrey. McCaffrey is one of the OGs of the fantasy genre and certainly one of the first women to ever do it.
Dragonflight is the first book in her magnum opus The Dragonriders of Pern series and features dragons, a loose love story, some cool powers, a war and more. So make sure to read my review.
As well as writing this review, I posted a video earlier this week over on my YouTube channel about my love for Kristin Hannah and why I think you should give her a read. So make sure to give that a watch:
📖 What I’ve been reading this week
This week my audiobook has been Life After Life by Kate Atkinson. My dad is a big fan of Kate Atkinson and her writing and when I asked social media for books that made them stop and think about life Life After Life kept popping up as a suggestion. So months after all of that, I’ve now picked it up.
It’s been ok so far. I thought it was about something completely different than it is, but I’m still enjoying it and there’s plenty left of it to go.
The other book has been JP Sheerin’s Marley’s Ghosts which I’m picking up when I have a spare reading moment. The big moment has now happened and it’s brought me in a little more. It’s an interesting read as it’s a lot slower pace than a lot of crime novels and really does feel like a retired policeman working on a case that he doesn’t really have to work on. I’ve got to finish this in the next week so I should have a better insight for you next week on it.
